Berryz Bus Tour 2009 part2

While in the bus going to our hotel, the bus guide played a video message from Miyabi. She mentioned that from every bus, there will be one person that was tricked during the 8-shot photo shoot session. The trick was actually the seat, somehow making noise when people seat on it. The tricked person then would get some sweets from the girls.

Asahi Hotel.

My room.

Around 3.50 PM we arrived at the hotel. It was called Asahi Hotel, near Oigami Spring. It was situated in the city of Numata, Gunma Prefecture. There was no convenience store nearby, but there was a shop selling drinks, junk foods and some traditional candies. For the hotel, me and my friend got a room for 4 people, and was sharing the room with other two. It seems that the other two applied together just like us, so it wasn't much a problem getting to know them.

Scenery from the window of 9th floor, in front of the dining area.

On the way to the shop, I took some pictures of the buses. Wherever these buses go, they would get attention from others, definitely.

A normal bus. Perhaps the passengers were not planning to decorate their bus at all.

Scenery around the area. Hills, trees and small shops and houses.

The room had only one toilet and one bathroom. The lounge's floor was made of tatami mat. There was a TV and a mini table at the center of the lounge. After settled down our luggage and stuffs, we went out of the hotel to get some food and drinks for tonight. After that we went straight to dining area to take our dinner, that was around 4.15 PM.

My dinner. After all the pork have been removed.

Before I started to eat, I asked a Japanese wota beside me to tell which one of the foods contained porks. When he showed me, I wanted to give the pork to him, but he insisted on giving them to my friend lol. He asked me, where did I came from, how did I get to know Berryz and other questions. We talked a bit and then enjoyed our dinner. For me, the food was okay but not really good because most of it were fresh seafood. Plus, it had plenty of different seafood to eat, but all of them were in small quantity. To be honest my stomach was not really filled lol.

After that, we gathered around 5.30 PM in front of the hotel and got into the bus to go to the live event that night. The place was so far we even had to go through the highway to get there. It took us around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Even I slept during that time lol. Before we arrived, the bus guide played a video message, this time was Chinami. She said something about enjoying the live event that night, and mentioned about them preparing some candies for all the participants. After the video finished, the bus guide gave some candies to each of us.

Candies! With official stickers.

After a long journey, finally we arrived at the place. It was called Tamamura Bunka Hall, where the capacity of the hall is around 900 people. It has no 2nd floor seatings. We then took seats according to the draws we had took earlier on that day. I got seat 29th row number 21. It was a very very bad seat, but at least it was the aisle seat, so I had more space to dance lol. Plus the hall's floor was not flat, so I could see pretty clear of the girls from my seat, except it was a bit far.

Because the theme of this bus tour was Halloween, most of the participants wore costumes like pumpkin heads, dracula mantle and other costumes, during the 8-shot photo shoot. But for this live event, most of them wore wota T-shirt and clothes they usually wore for concerts. Surprisingly, there were some of them that still wore Halloween costumes. I saw a man wearing pumpkin mask but held a penlight lol. Behind my seat was a friend of mine, a crazy Japanese wota that had attended mostly all of Berryz concerts and events. He called me "Malaysia" since he knew I'm from Malaysia, and asked me to dance crazily together with him for that night's live event lol. He even wore a funny costume, probably a sexy witch costume with skirt ROFL.

Before the live event started, the hall went dark and they played Michael Jackson's Thiller intro. People started to clap and I already went a bit outside into the aisle, then suddenly someone pushed me back into my seat. When I looked, I realized it was the staff clearing the path for Berryz to come to stage from the back. The girls wore some kind of witch costume with witch hats that made people hard to recognize them. When they got on the stage, they took off their hats and started singing the first song. The set list was like this:

1. Jiriri Kiteru
2. Furare Pattern
MC
3. Dakishimete Dakishimete
4. Sakura wa Raku sa
MC
5. Kono Yubi Tomare
6. Passion E-CHA E-CHA
7. Ai Suru Hito no Namae wo Nikki ni
Lottery Draw Session
8. Ai no Suki Suki Shisu Jyoshochu
9. Sayonara Hageshiki Koi
10. Arigato Tomodachi
Encore
11. Rival
12. Yuujou Junjou oh Seishun

During the MC parts, the girls mentioned about certain seats that have special decoration on it. People who have their seat like that would get a present. Other than that, they have the Lottery Draw Session, using the piece of paper that all participants wrote down their answers for the bat hunting game. Only 7 people were selected, and the present was a small penlight that shaped something like ghost, signed by each member. Sadly, I didn't get any of these T_T

About the set list, it was made of really good songs, in my opinion. I love Dakishimete Dakishimete and a bit unhappy with the tour concert they doing right now, "Medachitai" because they don't sing that song. But performance-wise, they often did mistakes. Wrong lyrics, forgotten parts etc. But who cares, we are their die-hard fan, so no one would comment about that ROFL.

There was once a ghost doll dropped down into the center of the stage. All of the girls except Saki-chan were surprised. Saki-chan knew about that and explained it was part of the Halloween theme lol.

When they performed the song "Rival" for encore, they came out to the stage by side doors of the hall. And they came out late, right after Risako finished singing her 1st part of the lyric, making everyone guessing where they were. Everyone was like looking to the back and forth, trying to find where would the girl come out form.

The event ended around 8.45 PM. We got into the bus and headed back straight to our hotel. On the way, the bus guide played one more video message and this time it was from Yurina. She mentioned about tonight's live and said she's looking forward for event on the next day. And, all of us got ourselves a surprised gift. It was inserted in the pocket at the back of the seat when we enjoying the live event. It was a paper containing drawings and messages from the girls. They wrote about how they enjoyed the 1st day, and looking forward for the next day.

This time the envelope was orange.

We got back to the hotel around 10.00 PM after a long journey through highway. When we got back to our room, the futons were already laid on the floor. Usually the Japanese wotas have some drink party with their friends in their hotel room, but I was too tired so I took my bath and went to sleep early.

To be continued.

Berryz Bus Tour 2009 part1

Last week I went to Berryz' Bus Tour 2009 in Joshu. Joshu is famous during this time of the year because of it's hot spring. This event lasted for two days and one night.

The invitation letter from Berryz Kobo.

The first part of this event was getting into the bus. For bus events before this, they had like two or more waiting places for bus, like in Osaka or Nagoya instead of Tokyo alone. But for this time it's only in Tokyo. The buses waited in a bus parking area near Tokyo Station. We have to be there at 7.00 AM and the buses would departure at 7.30 AM according to the schedule. Many people complained about this as Joshu is not so far from Tokyo but still they had to come early. As for me, I am always with the cheap express night bus, so I didn't have problem of getting in time.

There were total of 17 buses, with total participants around 800 people, lesser than the last time in Nagano (1000) and Yamanashi (1200). I was in bus number 9, with other 45 people in it.

People waiting outside the buses.

Bus number 9 and a close up.

Seats position in bus number 9.

Around 7.30 AM the buses took off accordingly, with bus number 1 took off first. It took us around 5 hours to reached our destination. The bus guide told us it will be in Joshu, but they didn't tell the exact place. During this time, the bus guide gave us our name tag and tour schedule. After some explanation and chatting about Berryz Kobo (one of the bus guide said she have been to both two previous Berryz Kobo's Fanclub Bus Tour! of course as a bus guide) they played a video message from Berryz Kobo's member, using the TV in the bus. It was Momoko, welcoming us to this event. And it was short.

My name tag.

The bus stopped us twice in two Service Area because of the traffic jam. It was Saturday, and probably everyone was going on their own vacation too. Around 11:30 PM when we were already in Gunma Prefecture, the bus guide explained that we will have our 8-shot photo shoot session in Lock Heart Castle, the same place where Buono! took their promotion video clip for MY BOY single.

The pamphlet for the Lock Heart Castle, given to us right before we got there.

Lock Heart Castle, taken from in front of the castle.

While waiting for the 8-shot photo shoot turn. Queuing by bus.

A restaurant? in the middle of the park.

We arrived there around 12.00 PM. Right after we got off the bus, we have to queue by bus number. In bus number 9, my registration number was the first, so I was queuing in front for the group bus number 9 all the time. It took around 1 hour for us to wait for our turn. Right after group bus number 8 finished, we have to wait for a while as probably the girls were taking their rest. The staff then asked me what pose did I want, then quickly grabbed my arms, brought me to seat and told the girls the pose that I wanted. I couldn't tell the pose to the girls directly. It was so fast I only had a glimpse at Miyabi and Momoko who seated just beside me. I was so surprised to see that Miyabi had a long hair, rofl. I finished my photo shoot around 1.30 PM.

Before we arrive at the place, the bus guide gave us a paper and explained about a mini game that would be hold during free time after we have finished our own turn for the 8-shot. It was called Bat Hunting Game, where we would have to hunt for black-colored bat-shaped pieces of paper placed in a certain area. There were a total of 20 pieces but only 7 of them contained letters and we had to find and figured out a 7 letter thing that was related to the castle. The bus guide even played a short video message of Saki giving instructions about this game before we got off the bus. Other than that, there was Find-The-Differences game at the back of the instructions, a hand-written message from the girls and a list of goods of this event.

The envelope, Bat Hunting Game instructions, and Find-The-Difference game at the back of it.

Together with that was a hand-written message by Berryz Kobo, and a more colorful version of event schedule at the back of it, with some important reminders.

And yes, good lists. We had to put right marks in the check box of goods that we wanted to buy. Me? None.

Right after the 8-shot photo shoot session finished, we have to take two draws for the seats for that night live perf and tomorrow's event. After that was queuing for goods. But I wasn't planning into buying things so me and my friend just went on straight to the bat hunting game. It was not so hard actually, because all the wota talked and shared their answers. The seven letter keyword was スプリングベル or in English, 'Spring Bell'. It is one of the castle's attraction, where there is a tower that has a bell in it which can make the love of a couple to be eternal with its ringing.

Exit from the castle.

One of the bats that contained a letter.

Around 2.30 PM we have to be in the bus to go to our hotel. When I walked out the castle, I could see some people still queuing for the 8-shot, probably people from bus number 16 or 17. It was very pitiful to think that they started waiting just like the same time with us, but still queuing for the picture after 2 hours. In the bus, the bus guide explained the answers for both games. Looks to me like all the people got it right for both. We got ourselves sets of pictures for answering correctly.

The goods that I had without spending a yen.

To be continued.

Ayami in Ikemen Sobaya Tantei Ep 01

This drama was first aired on 040409. I knew about two months before that.
After, I just went whooosh without any effort to find the thing. True I know that Ayami will star in it, but little did I know she was only featured in 1 EPISODE ! and it was only a combined air-time of less than 5 minutes !!! well, 1 episode is about 23 minutes, so she got almost 20% of the total viewing time - VERY DISAPPOINTED. Nevertheless, her acting skills were NOT BAD, in fact, she was CHOU BERRI KAWAII  !!

So what is this drama about? Quoted from Tokyograph:

"Worried about her younger brother Juntaro's future, Itako visits the soba restaurant that Juntaro runs. The store is known as the "Ikemen Sobaya," due to the good looks of Juntaro and the part-time delivery boys. Itako discovers that Juntaro does more than just work at the shop - he also happens to work as a detective who solves a lot of incidents around the neighborhood. Juntaro is also surrounded by a cast of strange characters, such as the gay president of a local talent agency and a detective who is constantly at odds with Juntaro"

Very strange, typical light drama I would say, enough with that, now the best part:

I cut out Ayami's parts and combined them together.

Karen Girls at Animelo 08 Full Video

The last time I checked I only found a 14 sec video of their performance at Animelo last year.

Somehow I decided to search them again today and found a 4 months old video in youtube. Ahh sorry for the late update.

enjoy (if you havent watched it yet)

THIS IS THE MOST EPIC KAREN GIRLS PERFORMANCE EVER.

Below is the same video but hosted by Google just in case Youtube version got deleted (not mine)

video

I'm a bit disappointed with the otaku as they didn't chant during the bridge.. ahahaha

Anyway I hope they will do MY WINGS for this year's Animelo (tho I doubt that)

BUT THE BIGGEST HOPE IS THAT THEY CAN HAVE THEIR OWN CONCERT THAT BIG !!!

Event Report II

I am sorry I skipped writing reports of most Berryz Kobo's events I have been attending to recently. Actually I did, but all of them are in Malays and I posted them in Xmorfis forum. There is only one event before I did not write its report yet on anywhere in the internet, that is Sugaya Risako's solo event. And I promised I will puff it soon, exclusively on Sushipuff! So hang on, and don't change the channel!

Alright, back to the topic, I was at the Berryz Kobo's 20th single release event last Saturday. It was held at Higashi Betsuin Kaikan that is in Nagoya, Aichi. The hall which was used, called Higashi Betsuin Hall, can holds up to 450 people. But I guess only about 300 people were there for each show.

Higashi Betsuin Kaikan

View from the center of the hall

Seat layout

As this was my first single release event, I didn't know a thing except to expect some performances and skits. The last event I went not long before, Berryz Kobo Fan no Tsudoi 2009 had the handshake called off due to the swine flu, so I was expecting the same with this, though deep in my heart I wished I could shake hands with the girls again since Berryz Kobo Fan no Tsudoi 2008 last year.

To be able to get into one of these events, one must buy any version of their singles at least one to get the application ticket. Then he must apply to join this event by using the codes that is printed on the application ticket, through a Japanese mobile phone. After that, he should wait for about 1 ~ 2 weeks to get the result. Application tickets can be used by the same person to apply for the same show (there were three shows per day for this time) and this can increase the chance of him winning an application.

Based on my experience before, using two application tickets for a show was risky, but three was a confirm win. That means, buying three CDs is enough for you to join one. And three CDs cost 3150yen, a reasonable price for an event I might say. For this time, I just bought 8 CDs and I used 3 for the first show, 3 for the second show and the other 2 for the last. Fortunately I got all the three shows in Nagoya. I was surprised to hear from a friend I met in the event, saying that he bought 12 CDs and applied for all three shows (4 CDs for each show), but ended up getting only two of them. Luck?

If you win a show, a text message will be sent to the Japanese mobile phone which you used earlier. That text message, together with the matching application ticket, is necessary for you to enter the hall. The staff will check both of them, and will take the application ticket from you. In return, he will give a ticket that has a seat number written on it, so the seating is random and not depends on the application ticket. A friend told me that to get good seats, I have to queue up and enter the hall early. This was proven to be right, as I got very bad seats for the first two shows due to late entrance. Didn't want to do the same mistake, I queued up early and got a third row seat, the best seat I got in my life, I guess.

Enough about the introduction, let's move one to the event's content. Roughly, all the girls did a performance of their latest single, "Seishun Bus Guide", in their blue and yellow colored costumes first. Everyone was standing during that time. After that, the girls asked them to be seated, so that they could start the mini game. Before that, they mentioned a little bit about anime Inazuma Eleven, and asked the other members which character is their favorite. One of the girls would be the MC, and the other six would be divided into two groups for the mini game. The losing group would have to wear funny spectacles and the MC would take their picture. That picture then would be shown during the handshake event. Lastly, the girls would perform two songs, one was random, and the last song was "Rival".

The First Show
Okay, since I went to all three of the shows, let me explain one by one. For the first one, the MC was Sudou Maasa. For the introduction part, everyone was mentioning about their school year each. Then, when Maasa asked for favorite character in Inazuma Eleven, Tokunaga Chinami said she likes Endou, the main character in that anime because he looks cool.

After that, for the game corner, they played "Darumasan ga Koronda" a Japanese traditional game. The MC, who was Maasa became the Oni, while Miyabi, Saki, Kumai were in Team A, and Risako, Momoko and Chinami were in Team B. Instead of stopping everytime the Oni said "Darumasan ga koronda!" the other girls have to do gestures according to what the Oni said. For instance, if the Oni said "Darumasan ga Tsunku ni natta!" that means "Darumasan becomes Tsunku!" so everyone have to do Tsunku's gesture and stop at their current positions. While the gameplay was changed, the basic rule was still applied where every player of each team cannot move while the Oni looks back at them. There were several times when Momoko was found moving and ordered to go back at the start position, she tickled other girls and made them to be ordered to go back just like her. The team that would touch the Oni while she wasn't looking at the girls for three times wins. For the first show, Team A won, so Risako, Momoko and Chinami have to wear funny spectacles and have their picture taken.

Next they performed Furare Pattern, the coupling song for MADAYADE. Last, they sang Rival. After that was the handshake event. Momoko was the first one, then followed by Risako, Maasa, Miyabi, Yurina, Chinami and Saki.

To be continued.
